Sad to be this my first steem post, I see no honest opinion regarding to what currently is happening in Spain.
First I have to clarify some basic concepts about democracy and Spanish recent history.

Spain: The Spanish constitution establishes Spain as a parliamentary monarchy. It says we have a democracy.

Nation vs State:

I have no exact definition for nation, but I know that they are not the same, and finaly if there is no control, the states ends in a fascist state against the nation. This is basic to understand what the nationalist exactly are.

¿Spanish democracy?

*Democracy requirement:

Separation of powers: legislative, executive and judicial
Representativeness of the nation.
Spain has no representativeness in the state. The voting system is based in the political parties. The political parties provide lists o people, and we can only chose those lists. The elected politicians will serve to the party not to the people who voted. The elected politicians, are elected just because someone, but them on the list, and if they were nice to the party they would go upper in the list. We cannot chose people, and the elected ones will serve to the party not to the people.

*Separation of powers. After an election, the parliament, the legislative power, is full filed with those listed politicians. They will chose the president, and the president will set up the government, the executive power. The members of the supreme court are designed by the parliament as well.
So as you can sea, Spain is ruled by political parties that distribute the all the power between them.
And if all this is not enough, the political parties are funded by the state.
So the Spanish constitution is a state oligarchy partitocracy, nothing to do with freedom or democracy.

Spanish 1978 constitution

After dictator Franco died, the political parties accept this oligarchy system.
There were two special situations Navarra and the Basque provinces. Navarra was ruled as an independent state until 1829, and after several civil wars in the 18th century stayed with many autonomous faculties. Something similar had the Basque Provinces (Araba, Guipuzcoa and Vicaya). After the Spanish civil war 1936-1939, Franco canceled those faculties to the Basque Provinces, but not to Navarra.
When Franco dies, and the political parties start to negotiate the new situation, the Basque political party PNV gets restored many of those lost faculties, basically tax control. The constitution makers created 19 local parliaments. There were two goals:

There wasn´t enough room for all the hungry stomachs in the political parties. With 19 parliaments, they could feed all their friends.
Making 19 different parliaments could weaken the especial situation of Navarra and the Basque provinces. This was called by Suarez “café para todos” coffee for every body, it means all will get the same price.

So the starting point of the 1978 constitution:
All the power is controlled by the political parties
There are 19 small kingdoms, all of them controlled by political parties.
Two small kingdoms Navarra and The Basque provinces, can directly tax to their people and companies.
The Spanish people can watch erotic movies in the cinema, and dream in freedom and but has no clue what liberty is. Another key was to think after Franc everything is fantastic, everything before the constitution is dark middle age.
Consensus is the key word. All parties agreed the must negotiate to be able to run the country, even if they go against their principals, consensus is equal to be modern.

40 year of consensus constitution.

Consensus means this: I you are in charge and you steal to the people, I won´t do anything but wait until my turn cames. The people can only chose between 5-7 options, so all the parties will get a slice of the cake, in different cycles. Consensus means corruption. And this is what we have suffered in Spain all those years, a corruption, that started with the creation of a none democracy. All the local provinces, except Navarra have politician in court.
So politicians’ instead of promoting real enterprises, and real innovation, they just promoted two things:

Ease business, based in the state’s budget. Construction, and turins
Stupidity, drugs and social degeneration. You could check this motivation in the spanis youth in the Petras file.

Catalonia: is it different?

Catalonia is not an exception in the corrupted politicians. Jordi Pojul and Catalonian lieder, who has been ruling Catalonia for more than 20 years, is a multibillionaire.
In the confessions of “de la Rosa” to the “pequeño Nicolas”, de La Rosa explains how he was the man between the Banking system and Jordi Pujols Ciu Political Party. Jordi Pujol coudn´t tax the same way as the Basque or the Navarra community, so his system was different. Car control certificates, construction licenses 3%, school systems meals…. Everything that the local government could decide, the awarded company would have to pay a fine to CIU and to Jordi.

Basque Nationalism in Spain.

The Basque nationalism starts at the end of the 19th century, with Sabino Arana. After the 2 Carlist war, most of the faculties that the Basque Provinces had they get lost. So Sabino Arana starts a political movement that’s establishes not a restitution of the lost faculties, he demands the total independency, based in three concepts: a different language, a racial difference, and the ancient law.
These movement got popular amount the rural areas. After the 19th centuries war, the power system changes, and the power start to rule in benefit of the cities and against the rural areas.
Basque nationalism gets a important support as a movement against the dictator Franco. It is true that Franco made most of the nationalists.
The Basque nationalist movement had different splits after the 1978s constitution. The terrorist ETA group, which started with Franco in the 1960s continue killing until recent years. Right now even if the PNV Basque Nationalist party runs the Basque Provinces, the nationalism movement is going down. Meanly because after 40 years of terrorism and big recession have made people lose faith in politicians.

When did the Catalonia nationalism started

All this started recently, with the president of Spain Jose Maria Aznar around 2002. Aznar during the last years of his government 2002-2004, promoted boycott to products from Catalonia. This is the moment when the Catalonians nationalism starts to grow. Catalonian nationalist started baking the nationalism, introducing ideology in all levels of education. They started promoting African immigration, thinking it was easier to sell the nationalist ideology to a none Spanish speaking African immigrant, than to a immigrant from Ecuador.
With the 2008 crisis, this movement got stronger, Catalonian politics direct the peoples anger towards Madrid and Spain. The people instead of blaming the local corrupt lieder, trusted the story of “we have hard times because, what we earn as a country, Spain waist it in lacy provinces”.
The Local politicians used the peoples hunger, and blame the central government. In has been an operation since 2002, with a big push in 2010, and started a slow decline after 2013.

Catalonia’s revolution scam

Spain steals from us
The only idea that secessionist from Catalonia repeat is: “Spain steal from us”, the rest of the propaganda like: oppressed country or Spain has imposed Spanish language, they know they are total lies. The Spanish state hasn´t force any Spanish speaking in Catalonia, and people from Catalonia, are as equal as oppressed from the state as the rest of Spain. And when they have to confront Pujol´s corruption they admit he was a thieve, but one of us, against Spain. This refutes the last argument.
Right to chose
They use the right of a colony to auto determination. Catalonia and Spain have been close together the last 300 years. With Franco Catalonia’s textile and metal industry, experienced a big improvement. Many people from different regions of Spain come to Catalonia, to start a new live. Catalonia has the main connection with France, and an important port in Barcelona.
Catalonia is not a Colony.
Catalonia’s history and Spanish history are link together, with no difference.
¿Do 300.000 immigrants from morocco, with less than ten years in Catalonia, have the right to establish a border with Aragón, another Spanish region, that people from Aragón haven´t ?
The right to choose, comes from the private law, especially the ecclesiastic law. And is only related to individual decision. A collective decision, can´t be chosen.
Catalonia’s new constitution
Is secret. The actual secessionist politicians have created a secret constitution.
A constitution is the rule, which protects the nation, “we the people” from the “state”. So now you can imagine how free could Catalonia be, we a constitution written by the ones who want to be in charge of the region. Catalonia would be as slave or even more, as today is the rest of Spain.
Government of Spain
Does nothing. They could follow the law and apply the secession charges, and jail the politicians and everything would be stopped. Instead of that, they started a game, showing the secessionist as an equal power. Given them a kind of legitimacy. Why? Because the Spanish government is as corrupt as the government of Catalonia, and both of them have proofs that could damage the enemy.

The real nationalism scam

Nor Catalonians, nor Basque are nationalist, they are plain steatalists, they want the state. They don´t seek freedom, they just seek power. They don´t condemn the actual Spanish constitution with no representatives or separation of power. They don´t condemn it and the one they would promote in their dreams, would be an equal constitution with the same betray to the people.

The referendum scam

Catalonian secessionist, have done a good international promotion work. Putting Catalonia’s voting close in time with Kurdish voting, and showing Rajoys presidency as dictators Franco heritage.
This propaganda attracted more than 3.000 extreme European leftist to Catalonia.
Rajoy also did his job, eansted of forcing the judicial system to charge the politicians with crimes against the nation, he send 3000 policemen to Catalonia, and a game of hide and seek started.
Those are some of the incidents:
In the morning, when some urns start to arrive, they fall down and they are already filled with votes.
• People introducing votes, in the middle of the street, with no identity check.
• People voting more than one time.
• Central states police men, Guardia Civil and Policia nacional, taking urns
• Central state police men, braking doors to enter in a school and take the urns.
• Strikes between policemen and people.
• Photos of injured people. Some of those photos, the one of a teenager bleeding are from older strikes.
• The King of Spain doesn´t say a word.
• Before 22:00 the secessionist numbers are:
• More than 2.000.000 votes, according to secessionists.
• 90% Voted yes to independence.
• Rajoy, announces if he has no support from the rest of the central political parties, he will announce new elections.

What do I Think

I can´t trust the secessionists nor the any Spanish political party, they are corrupted as hell. The secessionist started to promote the independency movement because they could no longer hold so corrupted situation in Catalonia and needed to create an enemy. I think they didn´t even want the indecency, they just wanted to stay in the power safe from going to jail.
Rajoy has let them do everything. All his decisions, have made stronger the independency movement, in and out of Spain. So Rajoy is an alley of the secessionists.
The Situation can go worst. Many people find similarities to Ukraine, and hate between fanatics is growing.
I think than the final solution, both Rajoy and secessionists are looking for is, grow tension between people, and after some serious injured ones, they will negotiate. They will negotiate in secrecy, a constitutional reform, that gives, to Catalonia’s politicians more power and immunity from all the past corruption.
They will negotiate this without any witness, and this will be another treason to all Spanish people.
Remember there is no Spanish political party seeking freedom, they all seek their own power.
