Falcon Heavy Launch

After 7 years of waiting, one of the most powerful rocket since the Saturn V is going to be launched today at 18:30–21:30 UTC

The Elon Musk's company SpaceX which is well known for their successful rocket Falcon 9 is going to launch the most capable rocket in the world - Falcon Heavy. The launch window is from 18:30 to 21:30 UTC and the weather is 80% favourable for the launch.

What's the payload of this mission?

Elon's going to launch his own red Tesla Roadster with a spaceman - it's a fully functional spacesuit designed by SpaceX. This payload will go to the orbit around the Mars! (I think it looks really funny!)

What is the Falcon Heavy?

It's a heavy-lift version of the Falcon 9 which consists of three Falcon 9 rockets connected together. It can launch up to 63,800 kg to Low-Earth Orbit, 26,700 kg to Geostationary Transfer Orbit, 16,800 kg to Mars and 3,500 kg to Pluto.

Why should you even care about Falcon Heavy?

Getting to space wasn't cheap before but when SpaceX came with their Falcon 9 rocket which can land on a rocket pad or on a boat, the price of a launch went down to about 5,000$ per 1 kg taken to space. With the new Falcon Heavy, SpaceX can deliver the payload to space for as low as 1,000$ per 1kg which will make space flight even cheaper than before!
