We watched with no questions, only awe.

My wife and I watched this event live in 1999. I studied and enjoyed learning about space since I first started thinking, I think. This event was going to be my first time to witness the Space Shuttle re-entering the atmosphere as it headed to Florida for a nighttime landing. My girlfriend (wife now) had no clue what to expect. Truth is neither did I. We knew the estimated time of re-entry and where to look in the sky. There were even times I thought I saw it way up in the sky. Then, it was unquestionable. That was the Space Shuttle. It had a bright, much brighter than I expected, trail of light that marked it's path. The thick, rope-like, contrail was fabulous. It was mesmerizing. But, it wasn't until I started to understand things worked differently than I once thought, that I started to question what I had seen so many years ago. The video is of that exact same event. It is not my video. And what is seen in it, is as rare of an event you will ever see from those responsible for it. It happened at night over 25 times. In the daytime, over 100.
