389,66 kWh in 2024 - My Balcony Solar Plant System performings

in #solarpower12 days ago

Here's a small but nice update on my balcony power station, which I bought in the middle of last year. I had already reported on it in June and July and then simply didn't pay much attention to the system, as it does exactly what it's supposed to do - produce electricity that I use. I have now attached a screenshot showing how the energy production from my two solar panels has developed over the year - as you can see, production went downhill from September onwards. Nevertheless, in the 8 months that the solar system was running, I produced a fine 389.66 kWh. Calculated at the current electricity price in 2024/2025, that's €136.38. After deducting € 380 from the initial costs of the system, my system still has to bring in € 243.62 for me to break even.
Cheers to sunny days in 2025! :)

What direction do the panels face? That will make quite a difference. Yours may pay for themselves quicker than mine, but mine had more installation costs. We need more people with solar, but a system like yours may not be legal in the UK due to our electrical regulations.

Enjoy the savings!

Mine just showing to the top ^.^ nothing installed - just laying flat on a table - the most efficient way to have the most sun during the day.

Three years payback sounds like a very good deal. How long will the system last for?

yea, roughly. i think over 10 years - and i can simply move it to another flat when i move out here and change places.
