Hi Steemians,
I get allot of questions from people asking me what software i use to create my 3D work. The main tool i use is Cinema 4D but there are many other high end 3D applications out there. If you are new to 3D and you are not sure what software is best for you i've listed the most important applications below.
While these aren't the only 3D applications out there, they are the most widely used in media and entertainment creation today. All applications are capable of modelling, animation, simulation and rendering.

I am completely fascinated by 3D effects. Personally, I wish I had more time to invest in learning these programs but I will definitely forward this to my son who hopes to create characters for a game he's developing. I believe he's only mentioned Blender to me but now he's got a list of other options to play with! Thank you.
I just wrote an article on the fundamentals of computer graphics. You might find it interesting (on my blog).
Blender is the sole software in the list free, tho the autodesk's softwares are available for free for students if you use them as learning tools.
I use blender. I'm planning on eventually writing some articles on how to use it here.
