What I learned Today At Preschool

I work at a preschool. Today was a regular day, we did our morning circle where we talked about how the date, weather, and how we feel. One of the girls in the class said she was feeling sad because at home her parents don't give her any attention. Both her parents are professionals and don't have much free time. This is the norm these days with most kids. This girl's expression of sadness about her near neglect by her parents made me think about our society.

Most people in Latvia and all over the world work 9-6 jobs, some work more and some work less but generally around 45 hours per week. By the time we get home and see our kids, they are exhausted and so are we. This topic has me worried about the future of our children and our world.

There has to be another way. Working and working to pay for the future but missing the present moment, the special moments. What kind of life is that? How did we get here? Children should be appreciated, cared for, listened to not left a preschool all day only to return home and be neglected.

This is a much deeper topic than just children, it's about our societies and what is considered normal these days. It's how most people were raised, it's all we know. It's time for a change, things will not continue this way.

Our society as a whole is waking up. We are gravitating to alternative lifestyles and our ideas about money are shifting. We are realizing that yes, money is important but there is a way we can have it and still have our lives, still be there for our children.

My wish is for all of us to spend less time grinding away at our jobs and more time focusing on our family, friends, and loved ones. More time spent doing things that we do just for fun and not for financial gain. I realize that this is very idealistic and for most, it's unattainable/unrealistic but a girl can wish.

The blockchain and cryptocurrencies have changed the way I think about money completely. Abundance is possible! And it's possible for anyone who wants it. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I wish for this way of thinking to keep growing and to keep transforming people's lives for the better.

Best,
Michelle
