Development Update 001
Welcome to our first post update regarding Nexus and the ICO for Social (SCL). This post will mainly focus on progress of our platform, how the ICO has been performing and the changes we have made to our company.
Let’s begin with our platform, Nexus. As you all can probably imagine, we’ve had a surge of new users sign up due to the marketing around SCL and the ICO. This has allowed us to truely test our servers capabilities and find new bugs within the platform. The support team have received hundreds of emails regarding enquires, bug reports, technical information and much more. The development team have been hard at work patching these reported bugs and constantly answering technical questions on Telegram and Slack.
This means that we have not yet had time to implement any new features into the platform. Once the ICO is complete, we believe that the development team will be able to focus all of their attention to development instead of questions regarding the crowdsale.
We have also expanded our team! We’ve hired two very talented developers - Gareth and Ryan.
We’re also looking for another front end developer to assist Jade with development and design. We believe that by expanding our development team to 4–5 should help us complete the stated roadmap in half the time.
Onto the ICO! We have been receiving many questions regarding the exchanges we’ll be listed on. All we can say for now is that we’re in talks with a major exchange and hope to be listed shortly after the finalization of the ICO. Once listed on the said exchange, we’ll then be approaching other exchanges in China, S0uth Korea, Australia, Russia and beyond. Selena (our PR team member) will be on this full time for many months to come, to make sure that we’re doing everything in our power to be listed on multiple exchanges, as quick as possible.
At the time of writing, we have raised more than 18,500 ETH, being almost $7.1million USD.
With this amount of funding, we have been able to expand the team, purchase new hardware, upgrade the server, and move into a larger office. The new office space will make way for the new team members that start in a little more than a week, along with allowing us to scale our support team accordingly. The support team will have to be doubled once the new version of the platform is released in the coming months to assure regulation and compliance of the network.
Lastly, we have been listening to the voice of the community and they have been asking for a rebrand. Multiple would prefer to see the platform renamed from “Nexus” to “Social”. We believe that this would be a pretty cool approach as the name would suit the platform perfectly and our coins, “Socials”, can simply be referred to as “SCL”. We will be hosting a public poll once the ICO is complete so that the community can have the final decision on this. We will never do anything drastic without first consulting the users.
