Stoke went ahead in the 43rd minute thanks to a great free-kick from Xherdan Shaqiri, but goals from James McArthur in the 68th minute and Patrick van Aanholt 4 minutes from the end of regular time meant that Palace had secured their Premier League status, while Stoke City are going down after a decade of top flight football.
Another team that secured their Premier League status for next season where West Ham United, who managed an impressive 0-2 win against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. Joao Mario put the visitors ahead in the 34th minute, before Mark Noble sealed the invaluable 3 points for The Hammers with a fantastic finish from long range.
Watford where another team that clinched their Premier League survival after they beat Newcastle United 2-1 at Vicarage Road, thanks to goals from Roberto Pereyra in the 2nd minute and Andre Gray in the 28th minute. Ayoze Perez pulled one back for the visitors in the 55th minute.
AFC Bournemouth also secured their Premier League status after a 1-0 win over Swansea City at the Vitality Stadium with Ryan Fraser scoring the winning goal for Eddie Howe's side in the 37th minute.
Earlier, on Friday night, Premier League new boys Brighton & Hove Albion clinched their Premier League survival after they pulled off an upset by beating 2nd placed Manchester United 1-0 at The Amex Stadium, with the only goal of the match being scored by Pascal Gross.
Elsewhere Darren Moore's West Bromwich Albion still have a minor chance of survival after another impressive win, this time over Tottenham Hotspur after leaving it late to beat them 1-0 at The Hawthorns. Ex Spurs man Jake Livermore scored the winner in stoppage time, which still leaves West Brom with a chance to pull off one of the unlikeliest survivals ever.
Southampton will be kicking themselves after they threw away their one goal lead over Everton at Goodison Park in the last opportunity of the match. The Saints went ahead in the 56th minute, thanks to a good header from substitute Nathan Redmond.
They looked all but set for an invaluable 3 points before an error by their left-back Ryan Bertrand resulted in an unlikely equaliser for Everton, scored by Tom Davies after a big deflection by Wesly Hoedt. Their next match away to Swansea City next Tuesday could now be the decider of who stays up between the two sides.
What West Brom did yesterday was awesome.
