Sober Reflection

The person you think is living a hitch-free life is most likely just not close enough or open enough to you to know their story. In one way or another, we all have struggles in this world.

Social media posts don't tell people's stories. They sometimes reveal slices of such stories, but never everything. Social media is not a space for us to bare our minds, for the world to hear our cries.

We mostly share only the good stories, the goals we have scored, etc. Our struggles are, in most cases, ours and only ours. If you think otherwise, wake up. Face your struggles head-on.

This "anxious generation" (apologies to Jonathan Haidt) is often misled or intimidated by others' social media updates. Don't be. Life is not a competition.

Moreover, while it's good to be motivated to do better, I swear your life is better than that of many people. So, cheer up.

May we pass the test of life with flying colours, ameen.
