Mr. Ralph's Adventures: Zermatt Switzerland and Snowshoe West Virginia

in #snow7 years ago (edited)

Good day Hive family,

In light of the frigid weather around me, and maybe around you, this post will revolve around some of the colder adventures for Mr. Ralph.

The first destination today is Zermatt, Switzerland. The picture below shows the creek that goes straight through the middle of town with the Matterhorn directly in the background.

Another small detail captured here was the transportation used to get around town. Now there were small buses than ran too, but not your everyday people mover. All of the vehicles otherwise called "battery-powered shuttles" would move around small amounts of people at a time. You can find more detail about this beautiful town here: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/travel/destinations/the-eco-village-that-will-change-the-way-you-see-ski-towns/article23113459/

The picture here is the gem of a view that we had at Hotel Perren: https://www.hotel-perren.ch/
The staff were amazing and our room was everything and more than we could have asked for, all at a really good deal.

A lot of memories there, and the party times were great!

Here I am not willing to take a normal photo, so it seemed like a good idea...

And here is the best way to finish out the day while incorporating the beauty of the Swiss Alps..

Oh, and I also got a picture with Santa!

The next small, but really fund trip was to right near my backyard, Snowshoe, West Virginia.

This town does not have the high elevations that pretty much everywhere else I have been, but it still makes for a great adventure. The good times have been had, and once in a while a good snow made for some gnarly shreddin.

Nothing like waking up to fresh powder...

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season, and stay warm out there for all of you powder enthusiast!

Great pics!! Thanks for sharing 😀

Epic pictures bro!

Thanks dude, painting a picture is much better than words. Bring them both together and that is art.
