Snapchat introduces new steps related to its technology. This new technology allows Snapchat users to send Snapchat Stories links to other social media applications.
This change allows anyone to view Snapchat Stories from celebrities, media partners, and everyday users via desktops and mobile phones. This step also makes Snapchat similar to Twitter which introduced tweet embedded in 2011 also Facebook that do the same in 2013.
Media companies, for example, can use embeddable stories to share Snapchat's exclusive recordings of event news. Snap's CEO, Evan Spiegel listed the content as his new priority for this year.
As reported by Mashable, the way this new feature works is that Snapchat users can create links to stories by tapping on discover pages. Then, the user can copy the link and share it via text, email, or to other social networks like Facebook or Twitter.
If a user shares a link to Facebook, it will appear similar to a YouTube link. This means that the video does not play automatically. For Twitter, links to Snapchat Stories can be played in tweets.
This new link applies to celebrities or influencers, Our Stories (curated by the editorial team Snapchat), and Search Stories (curated alogarithmically by topic or location). This does not include Publisher Stories or Shows for now.
While most content on Snapchat lasts for 24 hours, this link will be available longer unless the user or curator Snapchat chooses to delete it. Official Stories are only available for 24 hours while Stories and Search Stories are available for 30 days.
Then for the user, one benefit seeing Stories via Snapchat is no ads. While with other players, publishers now have the ability to direct users to their own websites.
Update is only available to users who also have a Snapchat redesign. According to the spokesman Snapchat this design is already available in Canada, Australia, UK and has been tested beta worldwide. All Snapchat users are expected to have it for the next few weeks.
