As the dog and I walk in the morning, there is much opportunity to inspect the ground closely. I get to ask myself questions like: What is the dog smelling now? Is he trying to eat it?
One of my favorite activities on morning walks is snail spotting. Some weeks they are plentiful, and other weeks you couldn't find a snail if you needed one. If you would like to learn more about snails, you might try http://www.snail-world.com/.
This morning I was successful in my search, and found two individuals.
My walking companion is very patient about this process, and most of the time very uninterested in what I am photographing. I suppose it's a fair trade - I wait while he stops every few yard to mark his territory, and he waits every few yards while I snap a photo of a snail.
Here are some photos of him I tried to take on the fly.
He's waiting.
Loosing interest.
He has been informed he will receive a reward for his participation. :)
