This morning I am enjoying a wonderfully bitter pomegranate smoothie. Pomegranates and their juice are full of vitamin K, folate, potassium, and punicalagin. Punicalagin is a polyphenol that is responsible for the pomegranate’s anti-inflammatory properties and is now believed to help prevent Alzheimer’s decease by reducing the plaque that accumulates between the brain cells, helping to improve memory. Those anti-inflammatory properties are also good for your joints, important for me since I love to run.
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- 1/2 cup nonfat vanilla greek yogurt
- 1 apple
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries
Put all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
Instead of using yogurt try using a non animal product such as Hemp milk and non processed juice, also kale or spinach is a good addition.
I use almond milk in most of my smoothies, I love it.
I love pomegranate! Have you tried also the cold pressed pomegranate juice? It is sooooo delicious

Thanks for the info.
Quick question? I absolutely love Pomegranate and would prefer to use real ones instead of juice but the seeds are cumbersome. How well woud they blend in the smoothie?
I think they would be fine but am honestly not sure, please let me know if you try it
Absolutely will do!
I think even kale smoothies are very good and high in energy. I have mixed kale, apple, almond milk and flax seed to make a great smoothie.
This sounds good
Haven't used pomegranate in a long time in my smoothies. Hmmm something new to add in my breakfast smoothie. Thanks for sharing ;-)
