We've had a few Smartsteemians approach us with a request for this feature, being something that is loved in many applications, we of course had to implement it as well.
As of right now, the option is live at Smartsteem.com and can be turned off and on at your convenience with nothing more than a click.
After you've logged in and landed on your dashboard, just click on your username/avatar to see the drop down menu. Click on the third option down, to trigger it off and on.
The setting is saved locally in your browser for your convenience, so it's not necessary for you to change it every single time you log on to your accounts.

yes, that's good for you.
We're automatically calculating the curation based on the age of your post so that you're getting the right amount.
More curation = More votes
But always keep in mind that promotion shouldn't be done purely for making money. The ROI is to minimize losses. The goal for promotion should be to get your post seen.
And even if you'd make a net loss right now, due to whatever reasons, chance is there that it's a big profit in the future.
Think long-term, not short-term.

I sent another 5 SBD AND YET AGAIN DID NOT GET THE GAURENTEED 15% ROI
You are getting a great deal. You should be using bots to promote your content and not for ROI. If you end up with a positive ROI that's a great bonus.
Other platforms such as Facebook or YouTube simply take your money and offer no money returns but just promotion. Steem bots give you an upvote as well as the promotion. Even if the ROI turns out to be negative, it is still far better than what other platforms are offering.
My advice is, make the best posts you can and then promote but in moderation. Over time you will build a solid following and your content will naturally improve with practice.
