After 7 years of begging the government for one thing we finally had our street light mounted & running in my street - just look at how the lights itself illuminates the darkness that fosters pickpockets, theft and ghost-mode kidnapping during the nights. But power is an infirmity issue here, very unstable, too hard to offer to we the citizens though we pay our tax.(These street lights are powered by diesel power plants or generator.)

This is just a street light photography on a young night, Hope you loved the shots?. I'm just glad that after years of clamouring for a street light and night watch - hoodlum now find it hard to operate on the streets due to containment of these amenities on their operations.
Ps: mind you, you may say "don't you guys have the police in your streets?" well my abode is a suburb area lacking security especially the police force support

Beautiful photography you got there with your phone. Love it

Cool pictures with your smartphone! I see why you clamored for the streetlight! There are some nooks and crannies I wouldn't venture into without a bright light.
Well I hope the light shines bright and long.

Yay! Thanks dear
So nice you have light again, I know how it isnot to have it.
Yes.. It so nice light is next to life - it carries this aura of liveliness
We experienced something like this too in my vacinity three years ago. You guys should be thankful it's installed, congratulations.
Thank you for stopping by my friend. "Let there be light and there was light" lol.. the darkness was a thick one before the mounting of these street lights, we can see clearly to know who is who and run for our lives if we encounter strange persons.
How many months did you guys wait before your community had them mounted?

In my street, we had to bribe workers from the light company so that they'd come and put some lights up. We had to find a worker with one of those trucks with stairs and a few other workers. It was a heavy day and we paid a lot but at least our street has some light.
There is also a lot of theft and murder in our neighbourhood so it was necessary.
We do have electricity for the lights though. And even though we did bribe workers to do this street, all the other streets around us are still very dark, so we can't go out. We only secured enough to be safe in our homes, but not to walk around much.
Omg!!! even at Venezuela this issue is also trending?. Then I'm convinced Nigeria is not the only country experiencing street lights issues.. I wish power was stable but it may take more years for the power sector to have a stand.
Same applies to me too, the safest place is my home
I rarely walk too much at night but if I do, I make sure I board a bike to and fro..
