So I was going to throw out my trash and what did I find growing about 5 feet away. the elusive Lady Slipper Orchid. I remembered when I was young my mother and her friend would talk about these and I had even see them a couple times on camping trips. They are a protected plant and are illegal to pick. Just seeing the lone plant make me feel like it needs some company. So I've read that you can propagate these best in spring or fall so this fall I may give it a shot and see if we can help this protected species multiply.
