Steemit waters can seem almost overwhelming to a new user. The learning curve and sheer amount on various platforms can just overload the senses of a Plankton/Minnow trying to gain ground in the steemit eco system. These waters are complex and run deep but don't let that discourage you in the mission for self independence.
: Ever Expanding Waters :
One of the most overwhelming aspects of Steemit is the fact it's growing every day. Other forms of social media grow but blockchain technology is EXPLODING. You have new platforms, add ons, dischord chat groups and various other aspects of Steemits growth happening daily.
I've been on this platform for 4 months, 100% full time and have yet to find the bottom of these endless waters. Exploration and a drive for learning new aspects of the blockchain will help you evolve on this platform.
These expanding waters are a double edged sword. They allow massive growth and options to the person with the correct mindset but can push away some users who want a simple interaction from social media.
: Social Interaction :
Interaction is critical in the Steemit ecosystem. Comment and interaction within the blockchain are obvious but jumping into Discord is something ALL new Steemit users should do right away. The UI and notifications systems on the Steemit platform are out dated. Having no direct messenger only makes this issue of contact even worse on the blockchain.
Discord breaks down that wall and allows direct contact with other Steemit members. Built as a "gaming chat" Steemians use Discord for various rooms and network via the Discord system. Below are links to a few of my favorite Dischord chat rooms and a short description.

Smart Media Group was known as 5 Star Entertainment. This Discord channel will be taking a new approach to Discord chat, allowing other channels to merge with Smart Media. Once merged users will have the option to see various groups but still keep their core group concept. The group will focus on EVERYTHING entertainment.

Dlive is a platform that provides video upload and streaming to the Steemit based user. Dlive has a amazing development team and I feel is making very smart choices for future growth of the platform. People like @jimmylin and other members of the group are pushing the platform to a new level.
You'll find content from ranging from gamers, cooks, musicians, artist and the classic vlogs.

Dsound is the place for musicians, podcast or audiophiles. The only source on the Steemit blockchain for direct audio file upload and run by @PRC. Dsound does AMAZING work of supporting musicians and tries their best to weed out fakes and scams, which isn't easy to do in the audio world.
: Quality and Consistent Content :
Try your best to supply the blockchain with quality content on a daily bases. This is a core aspect to growth on the Steemit blockchain. You don't need to start with perfect post but evolution should always be the goal. Pushing high quality content into the Steemit blockchain on a daily basis added with social interaction will help you flourish on the blockchain.
Never let yourself get overwhelmed by quality of others peoples post, focus on your work and your evolution. Looking to high up the mountain can make you turn away, focus on the ground in front of you.
: Unstoppable Mindset w/ DLive Video Link :
Your own mindset is the most important aspect of failure or success. Having a winning mindset will increase the odds you walk away with victory.
The phrase " Being you're own worst enemy" can apply to many aspects of life, what we think about ourselves will reflect on the actions and progress we make in life.
When entering a new task, project or competition. I always envision myself completing the task or winning. Having a clear goal and winning mindset is critical to growth and progress.
