The SmartCash community has been eagerly waiting for the 1.2 release which promises fixes for several issues and introduces a few enhancements to make using #smartcash less complicated. Published in an article titled A Look Ahead to Great New Features Present in SmartCash v1.2 details were given of what to expect.
This is a look into the new features, bug fixes, and improvements coming in the soon-to-be-released SmartCash Core V1.2. This is what runs the node infrastructure for the SmartCash Payment Network and cryptocurrency. The release date is expected to be before July 25th, 2018.

In my post I aim to list all of these in a short read
What to Expect:
- Release Date: Before July 25th 2018
- SmartRewards will now be calculated from the #SmartNode
- SmartNodes and new coins will be created directly on the blockchain using “coinbase” transactions and sent directly to eligible addresses
- SmartRewards will no longer accumulate in the dedicated SmartReward address for later disbursement
- SmartRewards will be mined at the point it is paid to our various addresses. This is all on the blockchain, less human intervention and automated.
- SmartNodes payment will be more frequent
- SmartNodes initial wait time - currently 22+ days - will be reduced potentially to 7days
- SmartNode period of grace, currently 1 hour, will be increased
- SmartNode payments will go through more validation
- Faster syncing will be implemented for the #SmartCash full desktop wallet
- More SmartHive addresses have been created, an increase from 3 to 6: more decentralized control of the funds
- SmartCash is “deforking” from Zerocoin - ZeroCoin privacy features and protocol is completely disabled at the protocol level
This is great news and full of immediate benefits to everyone. I expect to see our SmartNode numbers increase as the issues of frequent payment and initial wait time are improved greatly.

Other Expected Features
As you all know #smartcash has a decentralized team of developers working on various feature. Apart from Release 1.2 features, some other features have being tested and close to being released. They include :
- SmartCash Electrum wallet : A light wallet which does not require you to download the blockchain
- SmartCard: A smartcash payment card and tool for merchant adoption.

There is really alot of innovations and changes coming up with this new updates. it looks very promising and interesting, i believe smartcash has a better long term potentials
