Slothicornian and co-conspirator @fabiyamada has struck again. This time, she is responsible for bringing in a very talented artist named @drawingly. Last night @drawingly descended into our Slothy discord channel and I had a chance to verify that her artwork belonged to her. I also was given the opportunity to interview her about her art career and life. I’m already a big fan, so I wanted to introduce her to Planet Steem, and make the first move in supporting her art….it is that good. Her killer advantage is that she is obsessed with unicorns, so I think she will be quite at home in Slothicorn. All SBD generated from this post will be given to @drawingly as a welcome to Planet Steem gift. All art on here is created by @drawingly and I have her permission to post them.
Ok, here goes, an interview with a new artist in Planet Steem, @drawingly:
art by @drawingly
Q: When did you start drawing and how long have you been doing art?
That's a long story and a very curious one... I started when I was about 8 years old. By watching cartoons on my grandmother's TV. I grabbed a piece of paper and stop the movie or show I had recorded and trace the art from the TV directly. It was fun for me, and little by little I began drawing by my own. Ever since then, I have been drawing, from traditional to digital. I still own my old tablet and I actually work on it. Up to today, where I sit on my comfy chair and draw away.
Q: Who are your favorite artists?
Whoa, I have.... a lot actually. I gained a love for so many artists around the internet... But my definite favorite from all, is Hiromu Arakawa, better known as the mother of FullMetal Alchemist. Kaze-Hime on Deviantart is another one of my definite favorites. She creates such beautiful pieces of art! And ... oh my god. If I continue I will name all of the UDON artists. I love them all.
Q: Are you inspired by Anime?
Yes. I grew up raised by my grandmother most of the time, so I was sitting down on her bed watching TV and back then, I had to watch, Ranma1/2, Sailor Moon, Inuyasha, all those cartoons. They marked my love for art.
Q: What is your ideal life as an artist?
How have I dreamt… of having my own space sitting in front of my computer and tablet. Actual working ones.. oh my god. And just... draw. Draw away for long periods of time... being able to listen to music peacefully without worrying about how the hell am I going to spend the next hours of my life. So basically, all I want for my artist life... is a good tablet and a good computer to keep pursuing my dream of becoming an artist for books.
Q: What would you do if you never had to worry about money?
This question actually made me tear up a bit. Damn. Uhh, first, I would totally spend money on my little girls. They deserve better than what I am giving them. Then I would take a vacation. I've never had one and I think it’s about time... and lastly, I would take care of my relationship with my family in general. Because art is demanding, i've been neglecting most of them.... And that is painful. And in a more material way, I would buy my ultimate dream... a Cintiq. Haha!
Q: Tell us three interesting things about you.
- I love unicorns. I have a collection of things, random things, like hairpins, stickers, plushies, even makeup things about unicorns. They make me giggle and smile. Or perhaps I just loooove colors. Pastel colors. Oh yes.
- I owned a Maid Cafe for 2 days. Yeah, I once had a dream about owning a Maid Cafe. But the dream was blown away because of some problems with a woman. And I spent a load of money on it that I will never see again. Hah.
- I still draw on my first tablet. Yep, I got an old tablet full of scratches and a weak pen that works for me. Its laggy at times, but it works!
Q: How do you get inspired to make your drawings?
I open youtube and type "Panic at the Disco". Oh boy. Inspiration riiiight in baby!
Q: Anything else you want to say?
I joined this community sincerely out of nowhere, I first heard of it from my real life neighbor, Fabi Yamada. She told me about it and I was very interested in it. Like, insta interested. So I moved in, and I started digging, and I just couldn't believe that this place has been right under my nose the whole time. After all the struggle and all the pains in my hand, i finally came to understand, that there's more to art! Perhaps this might be the way to achieve my dream! And, who knows! The world might just twist for me, and finally give me a small chance to shine. Thank you, from my pastel colored heart!

I don't know whether I am delightedly by the fact that this wonderful person in the figure of @drawingly has joined the steemit family or about the interview itself. All I know is that I was highly delighted reading every piece of the article especially the way the questions were beautifully crafted and the answers to them blows me over. why? because I believe steemit is the answer to all her desires. What ever she was dreaming of, steemit has the power to help her achieve that in an amazing fashion.

anime is the best
Ah! Love this interview! It's always so interesting to read about artists inspiration and such. Thank you for sharing this!
@drawingly. Keep going. Keep doing what you love and seeking the opportunities that are waiting. The doors will open and you will be able to not only get yourself a proper hardware setup but you will give your children the life and liberty they deserve. As an independent artist I can tell you that it takes every ounce of your effort to stay afloat sometimes but if you stay true to your passions and seek opportunity then you will succeed...that is of course to note that you must first have the proper talent, which you definitely do. Good luck and Godspeed.
Thankyou so much for such wonderful words. I truly am doing my best!! Thankyou so much again. Hopefully everything will come out great. <3 ! I wish you the best as well!
Thank you kindly. You should have a look at my work. I am sure you will appreciate it. I work digitally also.
Thank you so much ! And can i see my art photography ? Maybe you like it :)) @stellabelle
This is actually my friend @john-unasa 's art work. Please don't steal peoples work, that's the fastest way to fail on Steemit. a
Art photography is not just taking a screen shot of some random persons art. Especially when you don't know the cultural meanings.
WOAH! Thanks for the heads up @kaykunoichi...the nerve of some people :/
thanks for pointing this out.
Awwwww haillll nawww @beyfendi
wow, you have the nerve to steal someone's art and put it on my wall? You don't understand my wrath for scammers do you. You should do more research. Scammers are on my shit list.
fraud ? From my research I found out this photo and my signature.I saw your post I wanted to show you and I this photo. How I'm going to cheat now ?I'm not British, I'm from Turkey.so I try to translate to Turkish and understand that if I made you wrong, I will apologize.. @stellabelle
But I thought this post was about @drawingly, not @beyfendi :D
Really ? Ohh...when I saw the art of photography, I wanted to send it right away. :)
