I stumbled upon an old sketchbook from the early part of the century and what a treat it is to see where I was then (on my journey). Here is a peek for you. There is a good range of sketch book ideas here; from pen to watercolor, and prisma-colors to charcoal.
I have an attic of stuff like this and every time I think to go through it I shudder at the process. I’ve never really shared my sketchy stuff and now that I am looking back at some of it I feel they are strong and standup. It’s so funny how hard I’ve been on myself.
I like the first and the fourth best :) the first reminds me of one of picasso's early works I don't remember what it is called ( it was painted around the time he did those famous portraits of his son) and it also reminds me of pinocchio ...
The round faces remind me of The Dark Drawing. I really like the poem sketch.
Can definitely see the maturation of your art in the time since the sketch-book.
Thank you for sharing :) I have always been fond of sketches and scribbling. I'm a notorious scribbler while on the phone myself, though mostly geometric shapes or lines, heh.
That final drawing seems to fit quite a few of the recent poems, and also the sketch above it.
I like that way your mind works. You know the surreal. Love that last sketch:)
