Wow, that was a cool recap of such a luxury holiday! I hope one day I will visit Punta Cana as it was on my list as early as in my teen years lol. The one time we almost went, we ended up skipping the long flight and went for a short flight to Turkey, also lovely but not comparible :)
What a pain though that you had a 12 hour fligth back, sigh, hopefully you at least got airport lounge passes and some compensation!

Oh that may even suck more, I first used an airport lounge last year when I traveled alone with my daughter for a passport run to Madrid. Back then I was still in daily (and often extreme) backpains so I decided to invest in comfort when possible and booked us tickets to the lounge. I'm never going back to not booking that when available :)
