I see now, upon scrutinizing the recipe it looks like what we call fruit cake
Which is equally as disgusting as our pudding so to you sir I say,

Normally youd bake a cake and smash it all down your throat the same day..... sponge cake goes dry with in 24/48 hours so eating it as quick as you can is advised!!
Fruit cake on the other hand....... well that fucker will out last both you and me. Its made this far in advance to give the flavour (yes it has an "OU") a chance to really develop. Its well worh the weight. Goes amazing with ice cream, cream, brandy cream.
