Your dad sounds great and glad you became close over the years. I had a similar relationship with my mum - at loggerheads when I was young and then good friends in later life. I missed her, too, for a long time. There were some things that I only ever talked about with her. I marvel often that she brought up six children and worked full-time for all but eight years. I'm not sure how she did it.
