I used a cheap detector in northern france last year and we found quite a lot of bullets from WW2. Quite cool but the detector kept going off for no reason so it was kind of frustrating.

Sometimes electrical interference from power lines can cause that. You can usually turn down the sensitivity to solve the issue. Too much trash in an area could also be a factor. In that case you would increase the discrimination setting. (Like switch to coin mode) Another main cause would be two detectors running on the same frequency. Hopefully helps if you try again. Really neat to find the ww2 bullets. Sometimes people find bombs over in Europe. Pretty scary
