Wirdle strolled towards a shop with 7 coins and a briefcase of papers. He knocked the door looking quite poor since the other Ragtles and Siraps wore such fancy clothing. A man as tall as Wirdle's knees opened the door with a delightful look on his face. He tapped what looked to be a watch a grew to Wirdle's own height. "Are you the kid Madela sent over? Oh my how scrawny! I'll fix that ! Come in!" hollered the man so quickly Wirdle couldn't fit in a word. The man looked odd. His hair looked static and his eyes 2 different colors! His back was bent over and he was very hairy. The man took him through a small shop so fast he couldn't tell what he saw last.
He led Wirdle to a door at the back of the store that opened into a hall. Through the hall the man began to talk. " Oh by the way I am Grim! Proud owner of the most friendly shop in all of Barsly, Grim's Wands of Magic Making, I opened this shop on my own after apprenticing at that awful shop past the hotel, it is called" he waited a moment to remember "oh my, it was Wands Galore! Awful, awful place to go, I hated it there but I must admit old Burggy was a grand coach. I wanted to pass my knowledge down since I'm getting old so I told Madela to send me the next aspiring wand maker. Madela, you send me the next Ragtle or Sirap to train. I have plenty of knowledge to share and I don't bite!" He began to laugh quick and hard then.
Wirdle realized they were at the end of the hallway and in a large room he guessed to be the kitchen due to large amounts of food everywhere. Grim began to throw stuff in a pan that he had never seen before. Wirdle sat down and took off his coat. When he looked up the table was set and there was food in front of him. On the first plate there was plenty of chicken's the size of a thumb, the next plate held a vegetable steaming rapidly, then there were strawberries, a big pumpkin, and to top it off a pint of colorful fizzing liquid. Wirdle then dug in.
After he finished Wirdle asked where he would sleep. Grim pulled him back through the hallway and took his time. He gave Wirdle a brass key and Wirdle opened the the door. He walked in to see a long room. There was a desk with a bookshelf. A tall bed colored in blue. The room smelled like dew and he heard rain and animal noises. "Umm. Are there animals in here?" Wirdle asked Grim who responded "no, this room is customization, wish for anything and it will appear, have fun!" Grim closed the door and Wirdle got to work. He colored the room navy, changed the bed shape, added books to the shelf, he felt at home after the process but got a thought, he closed and opened his eyes and a brown dog appeared on his bed. He then curled up to the dog petting it into his sleep.
Wirdle woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs and got up without hesitation. It was 7 o'clock and he sat down to eat. The food had been laid out and he helped himself. When he finished Grim gave him a box "bring it to your room and open it and a wardrobe will appear." Wirdle did just that and a wardrobe did appear. He got dressed and went to the shop where Grim had many tools laid out. Grim and Wirdle got to work and Wirdle learned lots that day.
