The Stones- a short story by @m4deline

The fire was hot and the kettle burned. Nothing moved in this house since father first learned. Once the family knew they disappeared. On the table stood a small green gem. It's yours to keep if you want to take the risk.

Before
Father opened a door, which led to a safe, which led to a box, that box was meant to be kept safe. As he opened the box 7 gems laid still. One blue, one pink, one green, one purple, one yellow, one orange, and one red. Father touched his hand to the blue and suddenly the house grew still. Something rumbled near the windowsill. Father got hysterical as he looked and it was a fat man dressed in blue robes with scruffy beard and standing on his tippy toes. He held out his hand and father was amazed but grabbed it and that was the last they saw father.

Later on
Mother looked around in distress and searched and searched but found nothing. Mother opened the door where she saw the open box which pulled her in tightly. Her eyes gleamed as she saw the jewels, she began to laugh but stopped, Mother took her hand and rubbed the pink stone. To her amaze a woman then grew from the table and arose real tall. The woman wore only pink and was covered in silk, her hair was done well as she held out her hand which mother touched and suddenly disappeared.

Far past then
Cindy was rushing looking for her coat not knowing her mother and father had gone missing. She looked very hard and searched every room until she saw the jewels. She glowed with happiness as she touched the yellow and a small lady wearing yellow wool appeared. Cindy grabbed her hand when she held it out.

Sam knew everyone was gone but didn't stress. He wandered the halls only to see the box. He grabbed the orange stone and grabbed hands with the man who only wore orange and wasn't seen again.

Then Sally grabbed the purple and went off with the lady who only wore purple. Then lastly Ben grabbed the red one and left with the man of red.

Where did they go?
