LAS VEGAS — Jesus Campos had no firearm when he found Stephen Paddock and approached his room on the 32rd floor of Mandalay Bay on Sunday night.
Paddock, who had rigged cameras in the hallway and on the peephole of the door, saw Campos coming and fired through the door, hitting him in the leg
When Campos was hit, he radioed casino dispatch and told him his location — and Paddock’s.
Police officers who subsequently approached the room received gunfire and backed off until SWAT responded, Lombardo said.
About an hour after Paddock quit firing, a SWAT team gained entry to the suite by blowing the doors off with explosives. Paddock was found dead inside from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
This new information explains why there's bullet holes in the door of Paddock's hotel room. As you can see in the picture below there's a bunch of bullet holes in the broken door laying on the floor. The media was first reporting he killed himself before SWAT arrived which might be true but they left out very important facts like this security guard distracting him while police arrived and that he and the officers were being fired upon inside the hotel.
This guy is the main hero of the whole tragedy in my book. Without him many more people might of been killed and the fact that he was unarmed and still tried to gain entry to room takes some serious balls.

Thats not whats being reported now. It was LVMPD that blasted door and gained entry, they said they couldn't wait for SWAT to many more lives would have been lost. I heard the Police chief say that during yesterday's Press conference.
when are these types of stories ever consistent??
That's rather strange if the chief is switching his story.
More questions than answers in this tragedy. Apparently the short Mexican folks, who warned the concert goers 45 minutes before the shooting, were hotel staff that caught on to the plot.
Full up-vote, could not agree more.
