Chores were given as punishment when I was a child so I grew up hating to clean. I got over this awful conditioning about 10 years ago when my husband and I retired. I no longer had to go to work and come home and work. I grew all our food and cooked, cleaned, canned, painted to my hearts content. I swear gardening, caring for my house and family, and living a simple life is the best medicine.
