I am not a big trading card game player but it seems this one looks really interesting. I was of starting with steemonster but when I heard about splinterlands it got me all hyped about a STEEM-TRON collab.. will there be an option to use cards across both platforms?

Well, these cards are made for steemmonsters, but any game could use them. If a tron-related site wants to so, they could use data from the Steem blockchain and data from the Tron blockchain to essentially simulate cross-platform cards.
I'm not 100% sure on how exactly you meant this question though.
