Both SEO and PPC are very important for successful and holistic digital marketing. After all, who does not want more web traffic?
But depending on the needs, type, stage and goals of your business, you may only need one of them or you may need both.
For example, if you own a new or growing business with some marketing budget, you would ideally do both.
SEO
SEO or Search Engine Optimisation is a way of optimising your website and web content for specific keywords so that it ranks towards the top of Google search results.
For a new website, with few backlinks, and a low authority score it can be very difficult to compete against well established websites, making it very difficult to rank for certain keywords.
This is not to say that you shouldn’t try. You just need to recognise that it will take a good amount of time (months or even years) to build your authority score and for Google to recognise your site as the go to site for what you do.
Our experience in SEO means that we can help you improve your website authority score and ranking for your desired search terms, so do get in touch if you need some help.
Our SEO services page will give you more detail about what we do and how we do it. You can even use it for tips if you have no budget and want to have a go at doing your own SEO work.
PPC
PPC or Pay Per Click marketing is a type of internet marketing where advertisers pay a fee each time one of their ads is clicked. Essentially, it’s a way of buying website visitors, rather than relying on organic visits (people who find your site via search engine results).
As we’ve already touched upon, ranking well in search results can be difficult, especially for new websites so PPC can be a good and fast way to get traffic to your site.
If your business sells services or products then we can help you work out the return on investment for your business.
For example one of our customers, Bishops Flooring Ltd, wanted help to gain more web traffic and more customers.
Using PPC we were able to drive traffic to their website and tell them exactly how much each web visit cost. We also set up conversion measurements so that we could show them which visitors resulted in flooring enquiries.
With this information they are able to calculate their return on investment. Often this can be in excess of £100+ per £1 spent.
