To live a good life you only have two choices...

How can we live a good life?

In a seemingly chaotic modern world with more potential sources of stress than ever, it would seem like the solution to such a question is complicated.

No one has the perfect answer but I will give it my best shot. I believe a good life is easy when we view it in simple terms:

To live a good life you must strive for creation over victimhood at each turn. Everything else for a good life stems from this abundant creative approach.

Creating is making good out of what life hands you, even if it hurts. Being victim is allowing life’s challenges to break you down.

Creating is owning your decisions despite how it feels. Victimhood leads to a destructive, self-perpetuating energy flow.

Creating is always seeking to improve your value in the world - being a craftsman, a master, an expert. Creators seek to be useful rather than to be liked.

Victims believe in the delusion of personality and always seek to protect their ‘perfect’ self-image, rarely taking risks that could distort that image. They care what others think, and live a worried, stunted existence.

Creators make things from nothing - they are empire-builders and nurturers of what is already there. They think abundantly, always combining and melding ideas into new manifestations.

Victims delay making things because they have many good reasons for not doing it right now. They believe things are scarce, thinking that everything has been done, and nothing new is worth creating.

Creators accept their past and are guided by their dreams in the present. They understand that darkness will always be there, and are able to focus on the magic without rumination.

Victims refuse to accept the dark in the world, and thus are stuck trying to fix and deny their past. Their inability to accept the dark smothers their spirit; they cannot surge ahead with energy.

The good thing is that we all have the choice on where to stand. Every day; every hour; every minute; every second we have the power to move from one end of the spectrum to the other.

Every time we wake up to a new day we can choose to live or die.

I have been both creator and victim at all stages in my life, but now having clarity on what constitutes both has helped me tremendously.

Live as creator, not the victim, and you will live a good life.
