When it rains, it pours!

I didn't get to socialize any on here or anywhere else for that matter yesterday due to a horrible surprise I had at or around 0400 in the morning. I was finishing up my gun cleaning post when I had a feeling to check my shop area for possible flooding. My area was getting pounded with torrential rains for several hours throughout the previous day and night so I had a bad feeling about my shop.

It's flooded in the past, but not since I built a retaining wall and added some dirt around the house to slope the water away.

My gut doesn't lie and my shop was under water. This ranks up there pretty high with some of the things that can happen to you that's guaranteed to make you feel shitty. But, what do ya do? Get busy, because it's not going to get cleaned up on it's own.

I wake up @carolina-girl just to tell her to be alert while I go up on the roof to check the gutters. I normally wouldn't bother with waking her up, but since it was dark, pouring rain and I have trouble getting on and off the roof as it is because of my feet issues, I thought it would be a good idea just to be on the safety sally side. Only one downspout was clogged so that tells me that the ground has just soaked up too much water near the foundation and it's seeping in. I desperately need to install a French Drain around the house.

After coming off of the roof, the fun part begins. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have this to use. This thing has paid for itself tenfold. I don't know how much it weighed when it was full of water but I know it was frickin heavy. I have a drain in my shop floor but impatient Bandito didn't want to stand there and gently pour the water in the small hole, so I just carried it outside and dumped it in the woods. Several trips were made; The Bandit is very sore today.

I didn't ask @carolina-girl to help me but like a trooper, she was right there with me fighting what seemed to be a losing battle. Here's another tool that came in really handy yesterday.

What makes everything so bad is all of the tools and equipment that I have in my shop and trying to move everything around to get everything dry. A real pain in the ass, son! I placed a few if these around which helped alot. The rain FINALLY quit but were supposed to get more today.

This picture was taken by a friend of mine. It's a picture of a park about 15 miles away from me that is completely under water from yesterday's rain.

I hope your weekend was better than mine and I hope you enjoyed my Debbie Downer story lol. Feel free to follow along with me here on Steemit, I have several stories that I want to share with you! @bluelightbandit

It's really pain in the arse! And you're looking great @bluelightbandit!

BONUS POINT! 😁

Oh that sounds terrible - especially that early in the morning! I hope you managed to get rid of all the water and that there's not too much damage! At least you were lucky and you realized it that soon!!

Yes, it was good that I found it when I did but wow, I sure was tired and wanted to go to bed lol. It took us all day to get the bulk of it out and were still drying out today...uggh! Thanks for reading and commenting!

All the photos very nice .it look very cool so beautiful

good story friends, and beautiful photography.

What a cool (and wet!) photo - man did it pour here all night in coastal Carolina - good times!!

Why those waters are immure and unclean؟
Do some unclean items are thrown?

Oh yes. The rain.
As Clif has said in the reports. Rivers and lakes of water falling from the sky.
You have received one of the lakes it seems. Ugh on that.
It will dry out one day. I hope for you soon.
It would seem that for everyday that we have that is good.
We have many that are not so good and we have something to do
that we don't like. Such is life.
But here is the punch line. It is because we "own things."
If we didn't own anything. We wouldn't have as much trouble. Ha
Thank you

Francis

Yikes! Not fun at all. Hope there's not too much damage @bluelightbandit.

Hey man! I hope your area gets to dry out soon. That’s a crazy amount of rain! (On a side note, I just made a post I’d really appreciate your law enforcement expertise on. I’m sorry to be in bad taste here, but I didn’t know of another way to ask. I’ve been following you for a while, but don’t know if you follow me.) Cheers!

i think you should be active on social media and steemit just for us to know that you are safe @bluelightbandit
