A lot is because people with higher reputations can afford the bots to boost them into the trending page and many of them are not concerned with the quality of the posts.

I know, this is one of the reasons, there are few more, I am not going in to it now, but the picture does not look nice, and is not encouraging. Quality is another issue to discuss.
It is important for us to bring this issues out and to talk about them, that is the only way to improve this platform we all love.
