L. Lefébure-Wély: Prelude in D-major. Secrets of Organ Playing Contest Week 73

Thank you very much for your comments, suggestions and help - i really appriciate it! It is amazing to have an opportunity to learn from experienced musicians, even when we're all stuck at home in the quarantine.

This week I made a small detour from german baroque to France in XIXth century. I must admitt that the organ music of this era was totally a terra incognita for me (Thanks a lot @michaelcalabris for showing me the Vêpres du commun des fêtes de la Sainte Vierge by Dupré, they're beautiful!).
Because of that I chose this very small prelude as a entry point.
With all the suggestions by @contrabourdon and @organduo I prepared it as an entry for this week.
I am looking forward to your comments and suggestions! What do you think about the registration and the sample set?

Sample set:
Cracow: St. John Cantius Church by Piotr Grabowski https://piotrgrabowski.pl/cracow-st-j...)
Registration: Tous les jeux de fonds. III/I, II/I, I/P

Sort:

Nice!!! I played this piece in the past, before several years, maybe :)

This is a nice sample set and you play this piece very well.

Thank you!

Well done. I like this sample set but the pedal seems sluggish to me. I think @partitura is with me on that too. I would probably only register this on 8’s as a personal preference. It sounds like you had higher pitches as well?

Thanks for your comment :)
Yes, after experimenting with different variants of registration I decided to use not only 8' foundations but also 16' bourdon and some 4' stops. Still I'd like to play it on a different instrument - I'm not 100% satisfied with the results I got.

Yes, I agree, the pedal is to sluggish for me. I played several pieces by Lemmens on this sample sets but never really came to like it. Piotr Grabowsky has better sample sets in my opinion (Azzio, Giibasco, Friesach; and of course the new Cavaille Coll sample set, though that one is not free)

I've already downloaded only some sample sets by him (the fact that some of them are free is a big advantage for a beginner) - now I'm sure I'll try Azzio and Giubiasco :)
Friesach is very nice, though I didn't feel like it fits this piece.
