This week i am working on No. 17 Lied from 24 preludes by Louis Vierne. In this piece, Vierne opens with a solo melody accompanied with an oscillating major triad in the right hand. The effect creates a happy feeling until we reach the B Major section in which he develops his theme by incorporating the pedal and right hand to create contrary motion of the melodic material. He finishes the piece with a recap of the them and slight variation and ends with echoes of the theme in the pedal. A very nice piece that i have used as a prelude or offertory. Enjoy!
Love the Lied. I want to play all 24!
Thanks for your entry!
