"Quartier Champlain" is one of the oldest parts of Québec City. Most of the neighborhood is a coop of merchants that is quite popular with tourists, although they had very difficult times lately. They usually organize their own ice sculpture trail, but the Winter Carnival handled it this year. Here I had to replicate the local architecture.
We get an average of 5-6 blocks for most sculptures. Since everything is outside without security, we have to keep everything a bit bulky. It has to be resistant to weather AND people!
