I m a Muslim .....but I know a lot of christians who live in my neighbourhood.......this year they decided to decorate the tree in the pic (it's a pine tree and is locally known as CHIRE).
They decided not to use artificial tree because it's made of PVC or polyvinyl chloride.
PVC is a blessing in disguise ....its chemical formula is C2H3Cl.
It is an odorless and soft plastic commonly white but can also be colourful sometimes by addition of certain dyes.
It's used to make pipes ...vinyl flooring ,vinyl slides and most other commonly used things.
Now here comes the chrunch.Its mainly processed from vinyl chloride which is a carcinogen.
Exposure to PVC :
By contamination of food or water with it because of the fact that most of the pipe fitting rods in our homes are made from pvc.
It's exposure .
Exposure to PVC often includes exposure to phthalates, which are used to soften PVC and may have adverse health effects.
Because of PVC’s heavy chlorine content,..... dioxins are released during the manufacturing, burning, or landfilling of PVC....... Exposure to dioxins can cause reproductive, developmental, and other health problems, and at least one dioxin is classified as a carcinogen.
SAY NO TO PLASTIC CHRISMTAS TREES.
