Hello fellow Steemians,
I have just found, that scientists invented water cleaner, which can clean water from 99,9% of bacteria. For this it needs common sun light and ultraviolet light. And best of all, it is only 1 to 2 centimetres big!!
Yes, it is that small [http://www.sciencealert.com/]
The most important part of the device, the compound is molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), a black compound consisting of silvery metal molybdenum and sulfur. Sunlight activates the electrons in the device, which then react with water and oxygen to kill harmful bacteria. Water is then drinkable.
According to scientists from Stanford University equipment can greatly aid in poor countries, lack of drinking water, which also do not have enough energy for the purification of unsafe water.
The material itself is cheap and the whole process simple. It is possible that the device will not be expensive.
According to the UN it is the world's more than 660 million people without access to drinking water. Roughly 1.8 billion people then uses water contaminated feces.
That is such a game changer. Hope some douche like Martin skrelli can't get his hands on it and charge like six hundy for it.
True, but as is said, materials are quite cheap, lets hope it will help lots of people!
This should have been promoted on Openideo water and sanitation challenge :

What can we do to promote it more ?
These articles says MoS2 is used to filter, desalinate water, not to kill bacteria
