Aluminium foil can boost your Wi-Fi speed! ❓

Aluminium foil is all you need!

When u hear about Aluminum foil, it is often related with the conspiracy mind. So, the thought that it can increase your Wi-Fi speed can sound pretty unsure. Though, it was in picture since so long for nearly a period but a recent research in 2017 has proved it working. Thanks to the team who put it on test and proved it by all mean. It has found that aluminum cans and aluminum foil can be used efficiently to improve wireless signals in the home. Basically, study has come up with low-cost technique for improving the strength of Wi-Fi signals inside your home, and it only depends on household staple that everybody keeps on hand in their kitchen: aluminium foil.

When you search it on google, you are bound to get number of posts with images of some weird contraptions. Many people have tried their hand by rigging up a metallic contraption of one kind or another to boost the signals. It is to create a satellite dish out of aluminum foil. For ex: using a soda can and keeping it behind your router. The consequences were mixed, no of people demanded increase in signal strength where many people observed barely any change.

Science has something to say about it

If you try to associate it with what science has to say about it then this idea surely has meaning. Wi-Fi signal is nothing but a kind of radio wave which encodes the 1s and 0s that your computer reads as Internet content. When signal is broadcasted it has restriction that it can’t go more than about 150 feet and it is most likely that it gets blocked by walls, metal, concrete. Here you might want to use aluminum foils to reflect the signals wherever you want it to go. That’s all the whole idea is.

Researchers at Dartmouth College have exposed that 3D printed signal reflectors, containing layer of metal and plastic, can extremely and economically advance the wireless signal around a home. By just using a reflector shield of aluminium foil as a 'virtual wall' positioned behind your Wi-Fi router, the team says it's possible to help shape the flow of indoor wireless signals, possibly giving your home network better coverage and speeds.
You could form your beam to avoid going out a window into the street but be stronger in a room nearby, thereby increasing safety and coverage. Think of it like a reflector behind a flashlight bulb, concentrating the beam where you want it to go. Metals like aluminum, copper, and silver all do the job.

Use the same technique to beam your thoughts across the room to your kids using a carefully constructed aluminum helmet. Lol

Have a nice day!

wow thx for sharing

@dowha thanks for liking !

very useful articles ,, if can be developed again ,, let everyone know....
I like your post

@lisdieny thanks for your kind words dear !

ur welcome

This is a really interesting post. I've always wondered how I could make the router signal better than it is right now and I should try this technique maybe its gonna work . Is there any tutorial on the internet on how to do this ?

Thank you for contributing to the Steemit Community.Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to your next posts.

Yes dear! Google it and you will find something on YouTube .. Good luck with your experiment. Do let me know the results... :)

Cool idea! Nice post. Will try to experiment that I'm getting issue sometimes with my Wifi. All the best!

@simply-g definitely u should try it and do let me know the results.

wow u always bring something useful for us. :).

@matytan I am glad my efforts are useful to Steemians!
