RE: How much does the weather affect our mood and behavior?

in #science7 years ago

I am highly affected by the weather. If I look out of the window and see the sun shining, I instantly feel uplifted. I don't even have to go outside in the sun! It's enough just to see it through the window. It seems to run in families because my mum is exactly the same. I used to live in Sweden, but in the end it was too cold and dark for me. Moving to a warmer country has had a big positive effect on my happiness. :)

I sometimes feel I should move too to a warmer country. Berlin weather is quite depressing, it simply adds on to my pre-existing stress. Where do you live now?

I live in Graz, Austria. We also get snow for a short while in the winter (see my post with photos here in case you're interested: https://steemit.com/travel/@victoria-kelly/temperatures-in-graz) but the rest of the year it's pretty warm. Even above 35C in the summer! The location means that it's more like a Mediterranean country.

On the other hand, you're lucky because Berlin is a wonderful city. I was actually thinking about moving there at one point, but now I have a boyfriend in Graz, so I guess I'm staying here for the moment. :)

Oh it sounds nice, maybe I will visit someday <3 And yeah there are just so many perks of living in Berlin despite the shitty weather. It is the least judgy and the most free city ever. You can dress up how you like, be who you are, no fucks are given ever.

Totally agree that Berlin in the winter is terrible, but I think with the number of events, and wonderful activities and vibes that there are in the summer, it kind of makes up for it!

Ah the summer vibes. I fall for Berlin every summer and then I don't leave. It is a conspiracy!
