I don't think so. The Coriolis force is evidence that we are in a rotating coordinate system. And the change in the Coriolis force as you move from the northern hemisphere to the southern hemisphere is evidence that we are on a rotating sphere.

Hi Tombot, look into this for yourself. The Earth spins Eastwards at 1000 miles per hour. If the atmosphere were clinging to the earth then why do you have the Tradewinds spinning to the West? Yes, sunlight does heat air and that causes disturbances as does cooling air. So does rising air or sinking air. But the Coriolis Effect does not prove the earth is a globe.
