Almost all cultures tell stories about the creation of the world in their myths.
Are these nothing but fables born from the human mind in order to answer the oldest questions in the world?
Who we are?
Where are we from?
These are the most anciest texts in the world, from different cultures:
- The Egyptian Unas Pyramid Texts (2300 BC)
- The Hindu Rigveda (1500 BC)
- The Babylonian Enûma Elish (1100 BC)
- The Greek Theogony of Hesiod (700 BC)
- The Hebrew Torah (600 BC)
- The Norwegian Prose Edda (1220 AD)
- The Mayan Popol Vuh (1701 AD)
Some of these documents seem to tell similar stories.
Warning you that I am neither a historian nor a paleographer, I'm asking:
Are these Chronicles of really happened historical events or nothing but legends?
I already know theories about ancient aliens and the archetypes and the collective unconscious, which I am very fascinated by. I know that the Old Testament descends from a transcription of Sumerian and Babylonian texts, but what about the Popol Vuh?
What do you think about this topic? Are you a supporter of the theory of ancient astronauts, a creationist or do you believe in the official science?
