AI has learned to create hyper-realistic sounds

in #science4 years ago

Sanchita Ghose and John J. Prevost, experts in machine learning, have developed the AutoFoley system that can complement any movie scene with incredibly realistic sounds.

In the process of producing a movie, sound engineers and editors add audio tracks to the movie that are intended to make the displayed scenes come true.

Until now, it was quite a laborious task.

Now everything has changed for the better thanks to artificial intelligence. AutoFoley system takes the hard work out of sound engineers and editors.

Artificial intelligence, based on the sounds available in the global network, perfectly selects and synchronizes sounds with movie scenes.

The published samples of the possibilities of this technology really impress with the realism, and this is just the beginning of the development of this system. Interestingly, IEEE Spectrum even tried to prepare an experiment during which volunteers, and in fact fans of the big screen, had to guess which scene contains

real sound and the one simulated by AI.

It found that as many as 40 out of 50 film experts could not tell them apart.

This shows how powerful this technology is, and how quickly it can conquer Hollywood and, above all, amateur filmmakers. IEEE posted several videos on its YouTube channel, supplemented by soundtracks generated by an artificial intelligence called AutoFoley.

If you do not believe that this is a real revolution in film production, see for yourself.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for this system to hit YouTube as soon as possible, because we guarantee that it will be a great success there.
