What Makes A Lion Become The Boss? Learning From The King Of Beasts 🦁

in #science6 years ago

A lion is 'a king of beasts' obviously for a reason. - Jack Hanna

Now what is it actually that makes a lion become the boss?

In business the lion is a paradigm of efficient leadership and controlled self-management and thus a role-model for those who're planning to come far in their area.

I remember that being in a basketball team at high school, our team captain's nickname was the lioness.

Now what do these wonderful creatures have what makes them become leaders?

The lion's the king of the beasts for a reason

For time immemorial, the lion has been the number one.

He's a symbol of power, strong leadership and authority. Yet did you actually know that a male lion sleeps 20 hours a day? So how can he be king if he's actually not present most of the time?

Here's how the scientific author and bionics expert Matthias Nöllke described the lion's secret to success in his speech What managers can learn from nature - Source.

The lion´s rules of success:

  1. Do as little as possible yourself.
  2. Just delegate to professionals and control according to results.
  3. When necessary, show strength.

There is strength in serenity seems to be the motto of the lion.

Now thinking well about it I must say that all strong leaders I know have that special aura around them. They provide you with the sensation that everything is under control at any time, and that there are few things which may ever disconcert them.

If I compared their behavior with mine, I'd probably assert that I'm too impulsive sometimes.

Yet, serenity can be trained.

First and foremost, managers can learn the benefit of comprehensive task delegation by observing the lion. - Matthias Nölke

While the jungle's ranking order is set in stone, as human beings we can decide whether we wanna hunt or be hunted.

There are few things nature can't teach us

What evolution has built up over millions of years must have happened for a reason.

We as human beings can effectively learn from many correlations that apply to wildlife.

Remember: It's not about being present all the time, it's about knowing when it makes sense to roar.

My mother said to me, “If you are a soldier, you will become a general. If you are a monk, you will become the Pope.” Instead, I was a painter and became Picasso.

Haha, that's great! I'm also thrilled to have @therealpicasso here on Steem actually :-)) Welcome to my blog @hynindia, thanks for stopping by!

it was funny

Thought provoking for me. I tend to do most things myself, but that can be very limiting with regards to time, skill set, etc. I'm learning more about delegating, and this has certainly challenged my thinking today.

Delegating is definitely not easy, but can be trained. I wasn't very good at it either when I started my career, but then when you grow into a leading role you have to no matter what :-)
I'm glad you enjoyed the read, thanks for adding your thoughts!

@sunfermarly You are looking very nice and Lion too.... I like your post. A great post.

i am also a kind of lion hehe

Sorry @sufermarly, I have never spam post again plz acutely I have new on steemit i have no idea on this platform plz be sorry

Personally, I admire the archetype of the tiger more than that of the lion. Male tigers won't consume their own kills until after all the women and children have eaten. As many as nine male tigers have been seen sharing a kill in the wild. Compare this behavior with that of male lions. How do lions treat each other? How do lions treat their children?

狮子的成功规则:
尽量少做自己。
根据结果委托专业人士和控制。
必要时,显示力量。

Can you translate that into English?

Try to be yourself as little as possible.
Entrust professionals and controls based on the results.
Show power when necessary"

Haha😄。That was originally your intellectual property, I just excerpted it in my mother tongue. Thank you!

Ah it was my text, haha

well said you need lion heart to delegate your power to some one. It's nice strategy to get success. No need to show unnecessary strength. keep sharing @surfermarly

Somehow, I was never as fascinated with lions as others. Looking at the lion as a leading figure still makes sense though.

Reading this post also made me become Mufasa for a second there.

Look around you, @surfermarly. Everything steem touches is our kingdom.
