Science Challenge Results

Picture

My Second Science Challenge is over and I’m overwhelmed by how many people participated. So many awesome posts, it was difficult to choose winners!

A huge thanks to @mobbs , @gtg , @justtryme90 , @biuiam and @lemouth who helped me choose!

Below, you’ll find all participants (who followed the instructions and posted their entry as a comment under the challenge post). I recommend reading through them because if you only read the winning posts, you’ll miss out!

The Winners

  1. 30 SBD + 30 SP go to @irime
  2. 25 SBD + 25 SP go to @huitemae
  3. 20 SBD + 20 SP go to @kerriknox
  4. 15 SBD + 15 SP go to @chrisroberts
  5. 10 SBD + 10 SP go to @valth

The Steempower will be directly powered up to the winner and is sponsored by @steemstem
The SBD are taken out of my personal funds.

Bonus: The “Minnow-Winner” (winner with the least Steempower) is @huitemae who will receive a temporary Steempower delegation sponsored by @minnowbooster !

But wait, there is more! I decided to add two additional winners, because the payout for my challenge post was bigger than expected. This means:

5 SBD go to @replichara
5 SBD go to @ovij

Congratulations to the winners and a huge thank you to everyone who participated!

Congratulations to all the winners :)

Such a great concept !
I am really looking forward to see what the next theme is gonna be !

We offer our congratulations to the winners, and to all other participants for all of the excellent posts created in response to this challenge! Here's to a strong STEM community on steemit :)

Congratulation to all the winners!!

Yay! Congrats @chrisroberts! (My sweet hubs 😍 ) and ALL other winners and participants!

Now I'm must go check out the other entries.

Thanks, @suesa for organizing this post AND for saying why people were disqualified. That is super important and helpful.

Oh, and thanks for being awesome in general.

Thank you! :D

And yes, telling people why they were disqualified is extremely important because most of them can do better next time and have a chance to win, especially because the quality of their post wasn't necessarily bad.

Wow! Third place! I'm seriously honored that you thought my post was that good! I'm so glad that I fell in with you guys on Steemit. Wow. I just did not expect that at all. Thanks so much.

Congratulations :)

Thank you for setting up the challenge and the generous appreciation! I certainly had fun writing the post!

@suesa Thanks a lot for organizing this challenge! It was a great prompt and very fun to participate in it.

Thank you also for the generous prices, congratulations to all the winners (I am glad I was among them). I got to know more of the science people on Steemit and read some interesting contributions. Keep up the great work!

Happy you enjoyed it and your submission was truly fantastic!

I just realized I didn't put the comment with the link to my post in your original post. Not that I was expecting to beat anyone here. I'm a dummy. XD
I was like hey, I'm not mentioned here.

D'aww :/ you can still link it under this comment if you like. And it won't be the last challenge, next time you'll remember!

Awwwww jeeeeez that post is cool. I gave you my $20 vote on it. So you kinda still won ;)

Thank you, you're too kind. The comment was more than enough. I'll donate the $20 for the next prize so it doesn't feel like a pity vote.

Please don't donate them! I would have upvoted your post anyway, would I have read it as part of the challenge. It was one of the few misconceptions I was really looking forward to.

As you wish.

A really clumsy mistake made me send the delegation to the wrong account:

so @huitemae can decide to keep the steem or keep it back so I can lease a few thousand SP with it for them :)

Never send steem tired :D

great job, Suesa! I'm not in math anymore, or I'd join this awesome contest :)

Congratulations people!! :D

Congratulations to all participants, but especially to the winners - all of your entries are awesome!
Also big thanks to you @suesa, it was a pleasure to participate in your challenge!

I'm glad you had fun ^.^ That's the most important thing after all.

Congrats winners and team @suesa for doing this contest. I hope you keep doing more such contests in future. Can't wait to participate in the next one too.

Steem On!

Doing these contests is a lot of fun so this will not be the last!

Cool. This was my very first participation in any contest at Steemit. It involved a lot of research and despite not being a winner, I still have feeling of accomplishment.

That's great! :D

Thank You!

Thank you very much for featuring my post as an additional winner.

My pleasure!

That was a real fun initiative. Congrats to all winners !

I had a lot of fun doing this, and your challenge introduced me to steemstem, so definitely worth it! When will the next contest be?

I want at least a month in between but after that... As soon as I have a good idea!

I'll be ready!

I've starting a regular nature identification thread where people post pictures of animals/plants/rocks/whatever to get iddntified. It's sort of a contest, in that I divide any SBD the post earns between the people who successfully identify stuff and my favorite photos to be identified. Any tips that might help me in running it?

Hmm, not that easy. My contest mainly worked well because I'm really connected by now and many people resteemed. I'd suggest you just keep posting and interacting with others. Your popularity should rise with time :)

Yeah, I kinda figured. Well, probably back to identifying pictures of bugs people post without knowing what they are. Eventually, though!

You'll get there, I'm sure :)

Just got to keep posting!

The big library booksale is next weekend, so I'll have plenty of material for book reviews and sources! (Not that I don't have stacks and stacks of unread books on my bedside table, under my bedside table, beside it, by my laundry hamper, and in the hall closet...)

Thank you so much for a great challenge! I can't wait to work my science muscles some more on Steemit!

I didn't consider winning or placing to be a possibility with so many brilliant folks around, but I'm thrilled to have been selected fourth place!

I'll definitely participate in future challenges; I think this is a fantastic way to get people out of the box. Wonderful! Thanks, @suesa! Thanks, @Steemstem!

Thanks!

I just love how many people participated and many seemed to be really inspired by the topic of the challenge.

Wow 7 winners for one contest that's very good. Congrats to the winners.

I am sad now lol

It won't be the last challenge and you'll know better next time :)
(but the rules explicitly said to credit your pictures)

nice contest.

Congratulation to the winners

So nice of you that you have arranged such a challenge for the steematians..hope you will arrange again.

I will! Keep an eye out for it :)

Yes..sure..

Congratulations to all winners! :)

I see you re biased towards fake vaccine science which says everything is OK. Yeah right.

Aside from the fact that almost all judges placed that post as "top 1"...

Did you even read it? The post shows how the paper discussed straight out fakes results by photoshopping unwanted stuff out.

If anything, the post is about the misconception that you can blindly trust published papers.

So why isn't there any that show they are harmful? I say that because the title is misleading then (@irime
Does Aluminum as an adjuvant in vaccines cause Autism?). For instance Polysorbate80 will take the aluminum throught the blood-brain barrier and since aluminum is neurotoxic you know it causes harm. There I said it in one sentence.

I'm not going to discuss vaccinations under the results of my challenge post... If you have a problem with the placement of winners, take 110 SBD and do your own challenge.

I have a problem with bias and fake science nothing more Suesa.

So you should be incredibly angry about the faked results in the paper irime is analyzing - and basically agree with her.

You are talking around the problem and that's what I don't like. I was referring to the misleading title and that is a misleading title. She actually didn't prove aluminum doesn't cause harm, she proved that the science was bad, sure but why? What is the motivation for picking this? Because you guys believe vaccines are safe because the science is settled?

So there's a paper (clearly linked with the word paper) in this post on why aluminum and other metals are neurotoxic. So of course kuddo's the Irime for doing real science but the title is still misleading and hugely so.

Congrats to the winners!!!

Thanks for doing this contest! I found lots of cool posts from this :D

That was exactly my intention! ^.^

Congratulation Guys!!

You are extraordinary. You can make a really useful post. Thanks friends @
"suesa
