Microbiology is the the study of microorganisms.

All English word ending with the suffix 'logy' meant study of something. I know you know.... Winks.
Microorganisms are living things that are usually at the cellular level of organism. Most microorganisms cannot be seen with unaided eyes.
Okay, you now know that microorganisms cannot be seen with unaided eyes right? So they can only be viewed with aided eyes. That is viewing under microscope, or with hand lenses and magnifying lenses.

Microorganisms can be either Acellular, unicellular or multicellular.
TYPES OF MICROORGANISMS
Bacteria

Bacteria are microscopic living organisms, usually one-celled, that can be found everywhere. They can be dangerous, such as when they cause infection, or beneficial, as in the process of fermentation (such as in wine) and that of decomposition.
The study of bacteria is referred to as bacteriology. A few examples are esherichia coli, staphylococcus aureus, vibrio chollerae, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Lactobacillus arabinosus etc.

Fungi

Fungi are any of a diverse group of eukaryotic single-celled or multinucleate organisms that live by decomposing and absorbing the organic material in which they grow, comprising the mushrooms, molds, mildews, smuts, rusts, and yeasts, and classified in the kingdom Fungi or, in some classification systems, in the division Fungi.
Fungi are the largest of microorganisms. Most fungi can be seen with unaided eyes. You can bear me witness that you have seen mushrooms a number of time but have you seen E. coli apart from pictures and under the microscope??? A few examples of fungi include yeasts like Candida albicans, and other fungi like the dermatophyte Trichophyton mentagrophtye, Histoplasma capsulatum, and Coccidomytes immitis are also good examples of fungi.

VIRUSES

The other types of microorganisms are the most dreaded types known as viruses.

Viruses are infective agent that typically consists of a nucleic acid molecule in a protein coat, is too small to be seen by light microscopy, and is able to multiply only within the living cells of a host
Viruses are dangerous because they metabolize the same way as their host. Examples of viruses include Influenza virus, Pox virus, Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Tobacco mosaic virus just to mention a few.

Till I come your way next week Tuesday, respect microorganisms, so they'll respect you

Viruses, at the mention of that fear grips me.

They are not all dreadful..... They have several advantages too..... Stay tuned we never can tell you might fall in love with viruses

My biologist keep it up

Thank you. I'm a microbiologist anyway
