Finally! Whenever the LHC is kept shut down, I feel like we are losing valuable data that we could have otherwise collected. But it is a machine and a giant one at that and problems are bound to occur.
I am so excited at what new answers it could provide in the future! :)
But the shut down is important for maintenance, for instance, or upgrading the detectors. I am looking forward for the new results that may appear for the summer conferences (actually next week at HEP-EPS in Venice (where I won't be :p )).
