I most definitely think we should throw some tax dollars at this problem :-)
And perhaps Government could fund psychology chairs at several prominent universities with full scholarships for a bevy of post doctoral fellows. These academicians could produce papers which they could read at symposiums around the globe. Papers that could, of course, come up with the definitive conclusion:
"More study is warranted"!
There is almost no end to the possibilities (if, of course, you disregard the crypto revolution underway).

I could keep Piling my comments h and Deeper until the PhD in them was noticed and I too would get to travel the world to pontificate at symposiums amidst all the others who have piled things higher and deeper :-)
