Have you ever been so annoyed with nightmares? Especially if the dream feels so real you do not dare to sleep again. Ever not? There are many theories that mention the details of why a person can experience nightmares until awakened with a heart beating and sweat scientifically. But some people still believe that dreams are just sleeping flowers that need not worry.
Here are some things about nightmares that you do not necessarily know. Could be, the nightmare is a reflection of the past, what you want in the future or the emotions you are feeling.
1. Nightmares can be controlled
In a study conducted by Yale University scientists, said that one can actually control the dream that he is experiencing. Only, most people who realize themselves dreaming will usually wake up immediately and decide the control.
A clear dreamer (dream control) is a type of brain ventromedial thought that is thought to be closely related to social interaction and emotional decision making.
2. Nightmares are a practice for things in the real world.
While there are many theories about why a person can nightmare, in fact it is the idea that the brain is trying to solve the problems that occur in the real life of the person who experiences it.
Sleep Journal of 2007 found a study of pregnant women who have a bad dream must be related to the child they contain. It is a reflection of fear or awareness of the real life that will soon give birth and become a mother.
3. During nightmares, one can not scream.
People who nightmares will not be able to scream while still dreaming, new shouts will come after awakening. That's because during the nightmare all the muscles are paralyzed except the muscles of the eyes and the muscles used for breathing.
Aneesa Das, professor of Wexner Medical Center at Ohio University explained that someone who sat up or shouted the person's sign had been turned on and out of the dream. That is why nightmares are easier to remember than other dreams. He also said that people who wake up from nightmares, remember his memory better than the ordinary dream.
4. Nightmares do not mean literally
Researchers at Tufts University suggest that most dreams are caused by anxiety. Bad events, or trauma will cause an intense nightmare to the person who experiences it. However, the meaning itself can not be taken literally. In other words, nightmares about accidents, dying, ghosts, pinched, tortured or other dreams do not mean the same thing will happen.
5. A person can dream in a dream
Have you ever thought like you woke up from a dream, showered, went to school and did ordinary activities when you were still sleeping? It is called a false resurrection or more easily portrayed by dreaming in a dream.
The philosopher Bertrand Russell claims that he has experienced this more than a hundred times. Later, this has an impact on the inability of a person to distinguish what is real and not. Is not it scary?
6. Nightmares cause excessive hallucinations.
When someone walks in, he will be in the middle between waking and sleeping positions, so he can not finally get a good night's sleep. Starting from like a voice calling him, feeling the sensation of ghosts, to see the strange thing in the room, it is a hallucination caused by nightmares.
Many artists, writers, scientists claim that this can enhance creativity. Salvador Dali, Isaac Newton, Nikola Tesla and Beethoven also expressed their agreement on this.
In fact, how horrible a dream depends on how you think it matters. If indeed you dream because there are things that you are worried about, then the dream could be a reflection of the emotions you feel. Sometimes, being paranoid will make you hard on your own. No matter how it means, dreams are still dreams.
That's creepy! It reminds me of a dream that I had when I was younger and it was the worst dream I ever had and exactly that dream was always coming back, sometimes I even had it twice a week. It was about someone breaking into our house, while everyone was asleep. The person always tried to kill everyone. But there was always a different ending, sometimes I wanted to scream, but couldn't, I also never was able to run, even though I tried really hard & before he stabbed me I woke up.
I guess it's not only screaming, but also dying, running for your life and other things that aren't possible in a nightmare..
