There are many rich people who are fascinated in finding the fountain of youth. Many spend big money in biotech research to find a way to immortality. Peter Thiel (famous Silicon Valley bigwig and investor) has been getting blood transfusions from young people in hopes to live a longer life. There has been mounting research that shows getting blood from the young when you're older can actually reverse some of the aging process. Our bodies stop making stem cells at age 25. So the theory goes if anyone older than 25 gets blood from someone younger than 25 than the stem cells can be reactivated in their bodies and provide extra healing properties and some reversal of aging. This was discovered when a young scientist from New York put an old rat and a young rat to sleep and tied their skin together. The rats blood supplies were joined together. After several weeks the old rat had new neurons growing in it's brain. The old rat also had a stronger heartbeat, bigger muscles, and brown hair instead of gray hair. Interestingly enough when they reversed the study and gave the young rat the old rats blood it actually sped up the aging process. There are several places in the world doing these studies on people and testing the results. The fear is when it becomes more mainstream that only the rich will be able to afford it and take advantage of it. It does show very promising signs of using similar methods to cure cancer and other diseases. Only time will tell but maybe we'll see a future where centenarians aren't that uncommon.
